Monday Java Buzz – October 10, 2001

Today’s Java Buzz is all about branding. I am big fan of Coca-Cola and there is nothing better on a hot Sunday afternoon than a cold bottle of Coke. I should be a spokesperson…HA!  In all honesty, the only thing in my head was a certain jingle while sipping on the cold Coca-Cola.

The popular song was “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony), which originated as a jingle in the popular 1971 “Hilltop” television commercial for Coca-Cola.

I realized that I was not the only one who loved this Coca-Cola jingle. Below is my Facebook post regarding the song.

How can a song that was launched in 1971 still have such an effect and connection to the Coca-Cola brand for me? It must be moments of celebration in my life that surrounded Coca-Cola and hearing the jingle while was a young child.  Now that’s branding…!
