‘The Future, Social CEO’ infographic asserts that social media is no longer a fad and as social sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn become a larger part of our daily lives we are starting to expect more social engagement from CEOs.  Social media can be a great way to engage the public by letting customers have transparency into the company, a great way to recruit new employees, find out what customers want, manage customer service and more.  Considering all this, it’s silly for any CEO not to have a social media presence.

Additionally, the infographic points out that as CEOs grow older and retire, more room will be made for younger leaders that are already using social media.  These new CEOs will set the standard for what should be expected of executives on sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+.
